Anthony is a grave robber.  He and Gino give tips on grave robbing and how to clean a human skull before selling it on the black market.  He does all this while holding what appears to be an actual human skull.  He gives advice on robbing mortuaries and actual graves and what to do to make sure you aren’t caught as well as what to do if someone does catch you.

“Grave Robbing for Morons” is an internet video that is believed to have been done in 1990.  Almost nothing is known about the video, including who the young man is, where it was done, when it was done or if it is even real.  It is believed to have been originally taped on VHS.  It showed up in a bootleg compilation called “Ensuring Your Place in Hell” which includes four half hour videos.  The other videos in the compilation are "Mortuary of the Dead", "Cooking with Huck Butko" and "Exploding Varmints".  Some of them have been exposed as being fake.  I have heard that, at one time, it was distributed by a company called “King of the Witches”.  The 26-minute short also showed up on a YouTube channel a few years ago called “Simon Predj”.  As far as facts are concerned, that’s all anyone has been able to prove.

The quality of the video doesn’t add a lot to answer any questions about the film.  If the video was made in the late 80’s or early 90’s it would most likely have been a VHS tape.  Since the film has been around a long time and has most likely been copied over and over, the quality of the video appears to have degraded.  It also starts in the middle of a sentence leading one to believe that the taping didn’t start until after the young man in the film began talking.

Many compare the film to the Shockumentary “Faces of Death” 1978.  This kind of speculation seems to add credence to the film being real, but when much of “Faces of Death” turned out to be fake, the waters ended up even further muddied.

All of this leads you to believe that the film is an amateur adventure, but it still doesn’t answer the question, “Is it real?”  There are opinions on both sides as to whether or not the film is a hoax.  Theories abound.  Anthony appears to be a teenager with a speech impediment.  Whether or not that adds to the authenticity is also debatable.  Not knowing how to rob a grave myself, I couldn’t tell you one way or the other if the video is real or not.  I just find it an unusual obscurity.
